First Time Buyer’s Tax Credit Extended, Expanded

If you’re thinking of buying a home in the Shelby Co./Birmingham area, Congress has just made the deal sweeter for you, by extending and expanding the First Time Buyer’s Tax Credit that had been set to expire November 30th.

The Credit has now been extended and expanded:

  • First time buyers now have until April 30th, 2010 to get a Sales Contract in place for the purchase of a home;
  • If you own a home now and have lived in it for five consecutive years, you are now eligible for a $6,500 credit;
  • New Shelby Co. home
    Congress passed the new legislation in an effort to stimulate America’s housing markets. There’s little doubt that, given the large amount of inventory available (both new and resale), as well as motivated Sellers and very low financing, that the extension of the Credit will convince some Buyers that now is the time to take advantage of so many good deals.

    And good deals there are, throughout the Birmingham and Shelby Co. areas…
