Good Mexican Food Easily Found in Shelby County

margaritagrillOne thing’s for sure about Shelby County, Alabama: You don’t need to go hungry. A large number and diversity of restaurants assures that you’ll walk out from a meal “fat ‘n’ happy.”

From Happy Hour Margaritas (in all sorts of flavors) to full meals like steak, chicken or shrimp fajiats, enchilada dinners and much more, you’re bound to have a great dining experience at Margarita Grill. But good food isn’t the only priority. You’ll find servers anxious to make your meal a memorable one.

On a recent visit, we sat out on the patio to enjoy live music in a cool September evening breeze. The entire time there was a great experience. I had the tacos al carbon with a side order of guacamole. Our water glasses never even got close to empty … and we cleaned our plates. meal01 The meal, the music and the service all had us convinced that we would be repeat customers.

Margarita Grill’s menu also has soups and salads, along with lunch specials and meals for kids. Among the goodies you might sample:

  • Cuban black bean soup with bacon and spices;
  • Brochetas (four grilled shrimp, butterflied and stuffed with cheese and pepper and wrapped in bacon);
  • Mesquite Carne Asada Tampiquena (marinated, outside skirt steak, along with a cheese enchilada, with lettuce, cheese, tomato, guacamole, rice and flour tortillas);
  • Mahi Mahi & Crab Sizzler (wood seared Mahi Mahi served over crawfish Julie sauce with crab risotto over Mexican rice and topped with pico de gallo)
